Five essentials for creating a cosy corner this winter

Five essentials for creating a cosy corner this winter

The clocks have gone back, the dark evenings are here and there's nothing better than staying at home and keeping warm, but you need the perfect cosy corner. These five essentials will help you to create the perfect cosy corner in your home this winter.

1. Pick your nook & grab your blanket

Picking the perfect corner can be tricky, so it's best to take your time and if you need to re-arrange your furniture then do it. If you've got a snuggly seat or an armchair that will be perfect, but if not lots of scatter cushions in a range of sizes will work to create a relaxed, laid back vibe.

2. Side Table

To create the perfect nook you are going to need a small side table or have a shelf within easy reach to rest your essentials on. It also gives you the perfect space to sit and write your Christmas cards in comfort.

3. Candle

Put a candle into your home decor and light them. Don't save them up for a special occasion that never occurs. Light them whenever you can, the flickering light and the smell will help to create a calming and relaxing ambience in your home.

4. Winter Decor

Add some elements of winter home decor or even subtle Christmas decorations, whatever brings you joy. It could be dried flowers, winter ornaments like these ceramic trees from Hudson Home or something with a glimmer of gold, like this hot foil print.

5. A Big Mug

A big mug for your hot drink, whether it's tea, coffee or hot chocolate, the bigger the better. The large Emma Bridgewater ones are lovely and I'm also a fan of Emma Lacey.
